In the 2012 race we are again using "chip to chip" timing. This means that each runner attaches a small "chip" to their ankle/shoelaces and your race time will be recorded electronically when you cross the start line and also when you cross the finish line, to give you an accurate timing of your performance.
Collecting Your Chip and Race Number
Race numbers and chips will be given out on race day from the race HQ - the sports hall at Chessington Community College, which will be clearly signposted from the car parks. Note there is no parking at the College itself, or in Garrison Lane, so you will have a short walk from the parking at Chessington World of Adventures or the Barwell Industrial Estate. As runners may be required to park approximately 500 yards from the HQ and then get back to the start, they should aim to arrive by 8:00am, and no later than 8:30am to collect their chip and race number.
At The Finish
You must wear your Chip for the duration of the race. fitted as per the instructions provided with the chip to get an official finish time. If you do not wear the Chip properly, then the system will not record you finishing and therefore we will be unable to provide you with a finish time. Sorry, but NO TAG NO TIME. Also DO NOT Cross and then recross the line!
When you cross the finish line we have a team of helpers to remove the timing chip from your shoe – please follow the volunteers instructions.
